After-sales Maintenance Precautions for Road Rollers
1. Daily Pre-operation Inspection
Before each start-up, complete the required inspection items to avoid potential mechanical failures. First, check the engine oil level and fuel quantity: make sure the oil level stays between the upper and lower marks of the dipstick, and replenish fuel that meets the octane rating standard according to the working duration. Second, inspect the hydraulic system: check the hydraulic oil tank level for any obvious leaks at the pipe joints. If oil seepage is found, tighten the joint or replace the sealing ring in time. Third, check the tightness of the connecting bolts of the vibrating wheel and frame, especially the fixing bolts of the eccentric block, and re-tighten them to the specified torque if they are loose. Finally, test the braking system and steering mechanism to confirm that the response is sensitive and reliable before starting operation.
2. Regular Maintenance Schedule
Different maintenance cycles correspond to different core contents to ensure long-term stable operation of the equipment. For 50-working-hour primary maintenance: clean the air filter element, remove dust and impurities adsorbed on the surface, and replace the element directly if it is severely clogged or damaged. Check the pressure of the rubber tires (for tire-type road rollers) and adjust it to the range specified in the equipment manual. For 250-working-hour mid-term maintenance: replace the engine oil and oil filter element, clean the fuel filter, and check the wear of the vibrating bearing. Add grease to all lubrication points including the articulated joint and steering cylinder pin shaft according to the specified type. For 1000-working-hour major maintenance: completely replace the hydraulic oil and clean the hydraulic oil tank. Disassemble and inspect the vibrating mechanism, replace worn eccentric block bearings and sealing components, calibrate the vibrating frequency to ensure it meets the construction requirements. Check the corrosion and wear of the steel wheel surface, and repair slight cracks or peeling in time to avoid expansion of damage.
3. Storage Precautions for Long-term Shutdown
If the road roller needs to be parked for more than 30 days, standardized storage treatment is required. First, park the equipment on a flat, dry and hard site, put down the vibrating wheel to make it contact the ground evenly, release all pressure from the hydraulic system, and apply anti-rust grease to the exposed piston rod of the hydraulic cylinder. Drain all cooling water from the engine in low-temperature environments to avoid cylinder block cracking caused by freezing. Cover the electrical components and air intake with waterproof cloth to prevent moisture intrusion. Start the engine once every two weeks, run it at idle speed for 15-20 minutes, and test each operating mechanism to avoid rusting of moving parts.
4. Safety Operation and Common Problem Handling
Never refuel or perform maintenance when the engine is running, and turn off the engine and pull out the key before any maintenance work. When the vibrating mechanism fails to start, do not force continuous start-up. You should first check whether the hydraulic pressure is normal and whether the control valve is stuck, and troubleshoot before restarting. If the road roller has abnormal vibration or abnormal noise during operation, stop the machine immediately for inspection, and do not continue to work with disease to avoid more serious damage to the core components.
